     I was intrigued when I found these cook books. Often, when I do buy a new one, it might be for one recipe only :)

     However, these books are just chock full of great recipes from some of the world's best known cowboy TV actors,  country western singers and cowboy poets.

     You'll find down-to-earth recipes from such big names as Fess Parker, Toby Keith, Festus, the Bonanza crew, Roy Rogers, George Strait, Brooks and Dunn, the Statler Brothers, Matt Dillon, Tanya Tucker and even Baxter Black to name only a few.

     Over 300 recopies from chili's to barbecue flapjacks. There is even a recipe for Road Kill Turkey! (I admit, that one caught my eye, too, but the recipe is so named because of it's flat appearance after de-boning.)

   When we lived on the ranch, we raised our boys mainly on game meat. Unfortunately, people feel that game smell bad and tastes tough. This can be true depending on when you get your game and how you get it! An animal that is running and frightened, will not have the best meat.
